Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, or NVQ Level 3 with significant experience
- Experience in a clinical research or healthcare setting involving public-facing duties
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Comfortable with databases and working independently
- Passion for patient care and delivering research to high standards
Desirable but not required
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Previous exposure to clinical trials or research environments
- Ability to take vital signs or perform clinical assessments
- Knowledge of medical and clinical terminology
Salary Details
This role offers a starting salary of £33,094, progressing up to £36,195, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Role

As an Assistant Clinical Research Practitioner, you’ll support a vibrant and collaborative Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials team, engaging with patients directly and coordinating all aspects of clinical studies.
You’ll guide patients through their research journeys, ensuring comfort and compliance, while managing essential documentation, supplies, and data tracking. You’ll be a linchpin between patients, clinicians, and research teams—keeping everything smooth, accurate, and human.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate research clinics and participant care to ensure excellent trial experiences
- Support participant recruitment through targeted strategies
- Manage data entry, case report forms, and trial documentation
- Order and maintain study supplies to keep things running without a hitch
- Carry out clinical assessments like vitals and observations
- Communicate with patients and medical staff to align care with trial protocols
- Maintain compliance with GCP and other regulatory guidelines
