About the Role
This role isn’t just another assistant psychologist post. It’s hands-on, emotionally demanding, and deeply rewarding. Working closely with men in custody, the focus is on supporting those with complex and risky behaviours—helping shape pathways for mental health and learning disability care in two of the region’s secure sites. The postholder will carry out assessments, contribute to therapeutic planning, and support service evaluation, audits, and research. Whether it’s working independently under supervision or contributing to long-term service development, the impact you’ll make here matters.

- Assess and report on mental health needs using objective tools
- Contribute to audits, service evaluation, and ongoing development
- Support mental health interventions and planning
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and decision-making
