Requirements
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology that meets BPS criteria for graduate membership
- Some experience working within a mental health setting, whether clinical or community
- Great with words and people, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A knack for organising, prioritising, and staying calm under pressure
- Comfort with tech and data, especially SPSS and Microsoft Office tools
- A deep interest in older adult mental health, even better if backed by relevant experience
Salary Details
This is a Band 4 role offering a salary between £27,485 and £30,162 per year, based on experience.
About the Role
This is a rare opening for a full-time Assistant Psychologist to join a vibrant, supportive multi-disciplinary team in West Norfolk. It’s an 18-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to make a real difference.
You’ll be delivering short-term, focused psychological interventions and co-facilitating therapeutic groups. Working closely with clinical psychologists and mental health professionals, your input will shape care plans and support service users through their recovery. The team’s ethos centres on collaboration and compassion.
With a strong connection to the University of East Anglia, there are excellent chances to contribute to research, reflective learning, and service improvement. You’ll be part of a psychologically-minded environment where ideas matter and development is encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver short-term psychological interventions that help people live fuller lives
- Co-facilitate therapy groups that support older adults with mental health difficulties
- Work alongside qualified psychologists and the wider MDT to shape care planning
- Assist with service audits, outcome evaluations, and quality improvement work
- Support team training, research, and reflective practice to enhance clinical thinking
- Keep detailed, accurate records that ensure safety, transparency, and continuity
