Requirements
- An undergraduate psychology degree or equivalent for BPS eligibility
- Knowledge of neuropsychological theory and assessments
- Experience as an assistant psychologist or research assistant
- Great communication and research skills
- Strong IT skills and clinical documentation experience
- A calm, motivated approach, and the ability to work independently and in teams
- Experience working with patient groups in a healthcare setting
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive Band 4 NHS salary, between £26,530 and £29,114, depending on experience and service.

As an Assistant Psychologist, your work will shape care and diagnosis for people facing complex challenges, from traumatic brain injuries to progressive neurological illnesses. You’ll conduct neuropsychological assessments, contribute to multidisciplinary care discussions, and gain frontline experience in both inpatient and outpatient services. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out neuropsychological assessments to support accurate diagnoses
- Work with clinical teams to shape individualised care plans
- Help analyse and interpret data to support psychological reports
- Support group and individual therapy sessions as needed
- Take part in clinical audits and service improvement projects
- Maintain clear patient records following NHS documentation standards
- Contribute to a positive, person-centred patient experience
