About the Role
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated graduate in psychology to join their multi-disciplinary Children and Young People’s IAPT (CYP-IAPT) team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting data collection processes, clinical outcome monitoring, and service-user satisfaction. This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone aiming to pursue applied training in clinical psychology.

Key responsibilities include supporting data collection, inputting data into databases, producing reports, training staff in outcome measures, and completing audits. The post holder will also have the chance to undertake supervised clinical work and assist in the psychological care of clients.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Assist in data collection and clinical outcome monitoring for the CYP-IAPT program
  • Input data into databases (e.g., Access, Excel) and produce data reports
  • Support clinical staff in using routine outcome measures
  • Assist in the completion of audits and the development of audit/research projects
  • Undertake supervised clinical work under the guidance of a Clinical Psychologist
  • Contribute to service development and teaching project work
  • Provide administrative support, including collecting statistics

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in psychology with Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR) with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • 2:1 or 2:2 classification with a further postgraduate degree (e.g., MA, MSc, PhD)
  • Experience as an assistant psychologist or research assistant (less than 5 years)
  • Knowledge of CYP-IAPT principles, database skills (SPSS, Excel), and audit processes
  • Good communication skills and an interest in working with children and young people

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • First-class psychology degree
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field
  • Experience working as an assistant psychologist in any specialty
  • Experience of working with children for more than six months (e.g., teaching assistant, tutor)
  • Knowledge of clinical psychology in the NHS and a clear intention of pursuing the profession
