Requirements
- An upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology
- Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
- Competence in research design and psychological methodologies
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written formats
- Confidence working with people experiencing mental health challenges
- Ability to apply psychological knowledge in adult mental health contexts
- Skills in prioritising workload with clinical supervision support
- Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary staff teams
- Resilience when handling emotional issues that may arise in practice
Experience working with adults with mental health difficulties and Welsh language skills are desirable.
Salary Details
The salary sits between £31,516 and £38,364 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
About the Role
This is a chance to step into a meaningful role where psychology meets real life. The Assistant Psychologist will support two Community Mental Health Teams by preparing therapy groups, carrying out audits, and contributing to service development. There’s also the chance to hold a small caseload, with everything backed by solid supervision.
The work is varied, impactful, and designed to give you hands-on experience in applying psychological knowledge in adult mental health. Every audit, every therapy session, every patient interaction matters because it helps shape better services and brighter futures.
