About the Role
As an Assistant Psychologist, you’ll join the Acquired Brain Injury Service and support qualified neuropsychologists in both hospital and community settings. This isn’t a desk-bound role. You’ll assist with neuropsychological assessments, rehabilitation planning, and therapy interventions. There’s also scope to get involved in audits, research, and teaching projects. What makes this role special is the hands-on learning. Under close supervision, you’ll gain practical exposure to psychometric testing, neuro-rehabilitation, and therapy approaches that are essential for a career in clinical psychology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in neuropsychological assessments to support accurate diagnosis and care planning
- Support rehabilitation activities that help patients regain independence and confidence
- Contribute to therapy interventions under supervision, ensuring continuity of patient care
- Work collaboratively with case managers and occupational therapists to deliver holistic care
- Handle clinical administration, audits, and data collection that keep services effective and accountable
- Participate in research and teaching projects that strengthen evidence-based practice
