Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health Care or equivalent qualification
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Two years’ experience in a Band 3 clinical setting
  • ESHT Care Certificate or willingness to complete it
  • Ability to travel independently across sites
  • Strong IT and communication skills to support effective care delivery
  • Desirable: Experience working within musculoskeletal (MSK) or pelvic health settings

Salary Details

This Band 4 role offers a salary between £27,485 and £30,162 per annum, pro rata. Your pay will reflect your experience and include the benefits of annual NHS pay progression.

About the Role

As an Associate Practitioner in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, you’ll support specialist physiotherapists across both acute and community hospital sites. You’ll help patients manage and recover from a range of musculoskeletal and pelvic health conditions, from post-operative rehabilitation to long-term care plans.

You’ll deliver group rehabilitation sessions for chronic low back pain and knee osteoarthritis while assisting in developing and monitoring treatment plans. Every task you do—from managing patient data to conducting safety checks—helps improve recovery outcomes and patient experience.

You’ll also work toward completing a fully funded Level 5 Foundation Degree, guided by ESHT’s Education Department and physiotherapy mentors. Once achieved, you’ll transition into a full Band 4 Assistant Practitioner post, expanding your autonomy and impact within the service.

  • Assist physiotherapists in delivering evidence-based treatments that restore patient mobility and wellbeing
  • Support group rehab classes, helping patients build strength and confidence
  • Collect and manage patient data to track recovery outcomes and inform service improvements
  • Carry out health and safety checks using the ASURE system to maintain safe environments
  • Work across hospital and community sites to ensure consistent, high-quality care
  • Contribute to service innovation projects that enhance patient care pathways
