Job Title: Domiciliary Carer
Job Description
St Monica Trust is looking for sensitive, dependable, and caring individuals who can join their Domiciliary Care team in The Chocolate Quarter. This would involve assisting residents in getting up from bed and retirement to bed, dressing/undressing, bathing, toileting, preparing simple food, cleaning, and laundry. These involve practical interventions like assisting residents to take medication, ensuring that they eat well, and supporting them in maintaining their independence and control over their lives. Carers provide emotional and social support that helps the residents stay independent and live an autonomous life. Relations of trust are imperative in building relations of trust between the carer and the resident for them to exercise choice and be valued. The carers will be expected to support residents in taking their medication where necessary. Keeping up and maintaining electronic care plans, which requires good IT skills, is another extremely crucial part of the role.
Qualifications
Caring, reliable, and empathetic nature
- Good standard of IT skills, including use of mobile phones
- Ability to build trusting relationships with residents
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (including shorter working hours: 8:00-11:00 am and 7:00-11:00 pm, along with other shift options)
- Willingness to undertake full training provided by St Monica Trust
