We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to lead cloud migration projects and support API development within a healthcare data environment. This role is pivotal in transitioning from on-premises systems to Azure while ensuring efficiency, scalability, and security. Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead Cloud Migration – Oversee the transition from on-premises to Azure-based solutions
✔ API Management – Develop and maintain APIs for seamless data integration
✔ Build & Maintain Data Pipelines – Implement ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data sources
✔ Optimize Data Storage Solutions – Work with Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, and other Azure services
✔ Leverage Big Data Technologies – Utilize Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, and other tools for large-scale data analysis
✔ Develop Data Models – Design and optimize data models to support healthcare business needs
✔ Collaborate with Stakeholders – Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and clinicians to ensure solutions align with healthcare goals
✔ Ensure Data Quality & Security – Implement robust governance, integrity, and compliance measures
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Qualifications & Certifications:
✔ Master’s degree in an IT-related field
✔ Azure Solutions Architect Associate or Azure DevOps Engineer Associate certification
✔ Strong background in data engineering, cloud computing, and healthcare IT
Preferred Qualifications:
✔ Azure IoT Developer Specialty certification
✔ Degree in mathematics or a healthcare-related discipline
Essential Experience & Skills:
✔ Proven experience in Azure cloud migration & modernization projects
✔ Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, and big data processing
✔ Advanced skills in SQL, Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, NLP), and ETL/ELT processes
✔ Experience with data warehousing, metadata documentation, and integration of structured/unstructured data
✔ Ability to communicate complex data concepts to stakeholders
Desirable Experience & Skills:
✔ Familiarity with Snowflake, Power BI, Power Automate
✔ NHS experience, particularly with cancer patient pathways & systems
✔ Understanding of software development life cycles (Agile, GitHub)
