Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification
- Experience in a nursery or early years setting
- Proven ability to work with children aged 0–5 years
- Knowledge of EYFS framework
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, reliable, flexible, and caring nature
Salary Details
This Band 2 role offers £30,074 per year, inclusive of High Cost Area Supplement, with a full-time 37.5 hour contract.
About the Role
This is more than a childcare role, it’s about shaping a child’s first experiences. The assistant will support children from 6 months to 5 years in a safe, stimulating, and emotionally secure nursery environment. Working with parents and colleagues, they’ll help meet every child’s individual needs while building strong bonds of trust. From guiding play to ensuring policies are followed, the role blends care with responsibility. It’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the earliest years of a child’s journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a safe and nurturing environment where children feel secure and valued
- Supervise children in all areas and support their development through play
- Work in partnership with parents to meet individual needs
- Follow Ofsted, EYFS, and Trust policies to ensure high standards
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere
- Work flexibly across Royal Free, Chase Farm, and Barnet Hospital sites as needed
