Requirements:
- Level 3 NVQ/QSF in a healthcare-related field or equivalent skills and experience (willingness to obtain certification within 3 months if not already held).
- Confidence and competence in a wide range of clinical skills.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to travel to sites in Merthyr, Cynon, Rhondda, and Taff Ely areas.
- Experience in undertaking clinical observations (Desirable)
- Previous caring role experience (Desirable)

About the Role:
This Healthcare Support Worker position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated wound clinic team. You will play a key role in delivering wound care services in various clinic sites, predominantly within the Merthyr, Cynon, Rhondda, and Taff Ely localities. As a vital member of the team, your work will contribute directly to improving patient outcomes and enhancing their quality of life. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering a range of wound care treatments within established procedures, under the guidance of the Wound Clinic Lead Nurse and Team Lead. Your contribution will ensure patients receive consistent and effective care.
- Implementing nursing care plans developed by Registered Nurses. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality care will play a vital role in patient recovery.
- Carrying out wound care treatments such as compression bandaging, leg ulcer care, diabetic foot ulcer management, and post-operative wound care. Your skills and expertise will directly impact patient healing and well-being.
- Assisting qualified nurses with specialist assessments and treatments. Your support will contribute to the team’s efficiency and effectiveness in providing comprehensive wound care.
- Reporting patient progress and concerns to the lead nurse, playing a crucial role in monitoring patient health and ensuring timely interventions.
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to a holistic approach to patient care and fostering strong teamwork.
- Handling administrative tasks, including appointment scheduling, referrals, and communication with patients and healthcare professionals. Your organizational skills will help ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
- Managing medical and surgical stock levels, contributing to the efficient operation of the clinic.
