Requirements

  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Promoting Independence or equivalent
  • Either a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis or BTEC Level 3 in Positive Behaviour Support
  • Solid experience supporting people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge services
  • Comfortable working solo or in a team, even during high-stress situations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence using a PC
  • Willingness to deliver personal care and teach others to do the same
  • Able to collect observational data and input into spreadsheets
  • A calm, motivational presence in crisis situations
  • Ability to drive for work purposes
  • Welsh language skills are a plus

This is more than just a care job. It’s an urgent opportunity to step into a supportive team and make a difference where it matters most. You’ll work closely with Behaviour Analysts to respond to behavioural crises for people with learning disabilities, offering structure and care during difficult moments. From personal care to facilitating outings and structured activities, you’ll be a hands-on part of someone’s daily life. Every move you make will be backed by thoughtful planning and behavioural insight.

You won’t just provide support—you’ll be shaping routines, enabling independence, and giving people a better shot at life. Whether it’s preparing meals, helping someone access their community, or assisting in behavioural assessments, your work will bring calm to crisis and possibility to people’s days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, structured support during crisis situations at home or in community settings
  • Assist with daily living activities like hygiene, food prep, and leisure engagement
  • Follow active support frameworks and structured teaching protocols
  • Help implement and model behavioural strategies set by Analysts
  • Collect pre and post-intervention data to inform care
  • Ensure dignity, respect, and individual rights are upheld at all times
  • Drive service user or company vehicles to support community access
