Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• IBMS-accredited BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification
• Experience working in a clinical laboratory, ideally in Biochemistry, Haematology, or Blood Transfusion
• Commitment to CPD and professional growth through ongoing learning
• Attention to detail with the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data clearly
• Team player mindset with flexibility for out-of-hours participation

Salary Details

The salary for this position is up to £26,040 per annum, depending on experience, with additional payments for participation in the on-call rota.

About the Role

As a Biomedical Scientist, you’ll join a skilled team dedicated to producing accurate results that directly impact patient treatment. You’ll perform analyses in Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunoassays, and Blood Transfusion, ensuring every test meets the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and validate laboratory tests with accuracy and scientific rigour to ensure patient safety
• Support multidisciplinary teamwork by sharing expertise across Biochemistry, Haematology, and Transfusion areas
• Interpret clinical data and communicate results to healthcare professionals for effective patient management
• Maintain and calibrate lab instruments to guarantee consistent results
• Monitor quality control systems and participate in UKAS accreditation procedures
• Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota to ensure continuous service delivery
