Requirements

  • First level registered qualification such as RMN, CPN, SW, Occupational Therapy or relevant mental health profession
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Strong communication, decision-making and risk assessment skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people
  • Confidence in managing crisis situations calmly and effectively
  • Good IT skills and ability to manage own caseload
  • Professional registration current and valid in the UK

Join the Wakefield CAMHS Primary Intervention Team at a pivotal moment where you will help shape how young people and families access vital mental health support. Working within the Single Point of Access, you will be the first contact for those seeking help, making informed decisions to guide people through what can feel like a complex system. Key Responsibilities

  • Take triage calls and make clinical decisions that guide young people and families to appropriate care, reducing barriers to access
  • Deliver brief assessments and focused interventions that promote early mental health support and prevent escalation
  • Collaborate with universal services and other agencies to build a coordinated care network for children and adolescents
  • Manage caseloads effectively while ensuring safeguarding and risk assessments are timely and thorough
  • Support training and consultation for professionals working with young people, enhancing skills across the system
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service evaluation for continuous improvement
