Salary Details
This role is Band 6 under the NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme, offering £38,682 to £45,580 a year pro rata for part time.
About the Role
This isn’t just a clinical role, it’s a chance to make a deep impact. As a CAMHS Senior Practitioner, you’ll split your time between the Core CAMHS pathway and the innovative Under 5s Clinic. In the latter, you’ll work with infants and their carers, using a psychoanalytically informed approach to help children express and manage emotional distress.
Your weeks will be varied, balancing autonomy with close MDT collaboration. You’ll assess, formulate and review mental health interventions while managing a caseload from referral to discharge. Expect to use your expertise to influence recovery journeys, support families, and ensure safe, child-centred care. The work matters because every small step you take helps a young person find their way forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist assessments and therapeutic interventions that change lives
- Manage a caseload with autonomy while staying connected to MDT support
- Provide consultation and teaching that strengthens the whole service
- Take part in the duty rota, offering timely advice and guidance to families
- Apply safeguarding and risk management to protect vulnerable children and young people
- Engage families and carers, ensuring interventions are collaborative and meaningful
