About the Role

University Hospitals Sussex is looking for a skilled and motivated Cardiac Rehab Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team at Royal Sussex County Hospital. You’ll be helping patients regain their confidence and health after serious heart conditions – both on the wards and in community exercise settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex cardiac conditions
  • Lead cardiac rehab exercise classes in outpatient and community venues
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support recovery plans
  • Support, teach and supervise Band 5 physiotherapists, students, and assistants
  • Contribute to audits, evidence-based projects, and service improvement
  • Manage your own caseload and help run the day-to-day service

What We’re Looking For

  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification NHS experience
  • Ability to assess, plan and deliver care independently
  • Clear communication skills and patient-first approach
  • Experience in cardiac rehab or on a cardiac ward (preferred)
  • Confidence leading group exercises and motivating patients

Desirable Skills

  • Post-graduate training or courses (e.g., BACPR)
  • Supervision experience with students or junior staff
  • Understanding of national rehab standards and NHS care pathways
