Job Overview

Harley Jai Care is looking for compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to support individuals in their homes, ensuring they receive high-quality, person-centered care. This role is ideal for those who genuinely enjoy helping others and wish to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.

Health Monitoring & Medication Support: Regularly monitor clients’ health conditions, assist with medication administration, and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.

Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Plan and prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of clients.

Companionship & Emotional Support: Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with clients to promote mental and emotional well-being.

Safety & Well-being: Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhere to infection control and health safety protocols, and report any hazards or concerns.

Care Coordination: Assist in the development and review of care plans, and communicate with healthcare professionals and family members.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, health observations, and medication records.

Qualifications & Training

Essential:

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Willingness to complete an intensive four-week training program with theoretical and practical assessments.
  • Understanding of care standards and regulations.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work toward it).

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • A positive attitude towards person-centered care for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
  • Understanding of services available for individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in a busy care environment, including personal care, manual handling, and daily support.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of care activities and client health status.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in home care, residential care, or hospital settings.
