Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Qualification or Mental Health Certificate Level 3, or willingness to complete training
- Direct experience of working with Carers in a supportive role
- Knowledge of Care Act 2014 and Triangle of Care
- Understanding of mental illness and the wider mental health system
- Ability to support Carers to achieve their wellbeing goals
- Organisational skills to manage workload across varied settings
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
Desirable skills include care planning, group work, and awareness of welfare and employment support services.
Salary Details
This role offers a salary between £27,485 and £30,162, reflecting both your experience and the importance of your contribution.
About the Role
As a Carer Support and Wellbeing Worker, you’ll be a lifeline for Carers supporting adults with mental health needs. This role is about more than just practical help, it’s about listening, guiding, and empowering Carers so they don’t feel alone in their journey. You’ll carry out assessments, connect Carers with the right services, and help them navigate a sometimes complex system. Your work will directly improve wellbeing for families across Hertfordshire.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assessments to understand Carers’ needs and tailor support
- Provide practical guidance so Carers can achieve their personal wellbeing goals
- Offer emotional support that makes Carers feel heard and valued
- Connect with local resources to ensure Carers can access benefits and services
- Promote awareness of Carers’ rights so their voices are recognised and respected
