Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent senior-level experience
  • Postgraduate qualification or extensive comparable expertise
  • Professional registration with a relevant body
  • Strong evidence of personal and professional development
  • Significant board-level experience in healthcare or similar large-scale environment
  • Proven record of leading high-performing teams to deliver complex objectives
  • Specialist knowledge in areas such as construction, engineering, estates, or capital investment
  • Clear experience in organisational change, stakeholder management, and cross-system leadership

This is an Executive / VSM level position, with remuneration aligned to senior NHS executive pay structures.

About the Role

As Chief Infrastructure and Redevelopment Officer, you’ll provide executive leadership for the Space & Place Directorate. This portfolio covers estates, facilities, and capital projects, including the Children’s Cancer Centre. Your leadership will ensure a safe, sustainable, and future-ready environment that enables world-class patient care, research, and education.

This is more than operational oversight. You’ll shape the estate masterplan, drive sustainability, and lead high-value investments that redefine paediatric healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Trust’s estates and redevelopment strategy so patients and staff benefit from safe and sustainable facilities
  • Oversee delivery of major capital projects, including the Children’s Cancer Centre, that will transform healthcare provision
  • Act as Senior Responsible Officer for strategic workstreams, ensuring governance and compliance standards are met
  • Support the Executive Board by providing insight, leadership, and critical decision-making
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and sustainability as part of the Trust’s transformation plan
  • Engage with stakeholders to deliver meaningful change that supports clinical teams and improves patient outcomes
