Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Experience supporting parents and families in a sensitive way
- Knowledge of child development to guide early needs
- Ability to handle confidential information with care
- Comfort working with mixed teams across services

Salary Details
This Band 4 role offers 27485 to 30162 per year pro rata depending on experience.
About the Role
This role sits within the 0 to 19 Public Health Nursing Service where you help children young people and parents stay connected to the Healthy Child Programme. You work closely with Specialist Public Health Nurses while offering hands on child development support that keeps families steady. You help identify needs early so children get the right guidance before things snowball. Some days you visit community spaces to meet parents where they are. Other days you help families build routines that support growth and emotional stability. Your work strengthens family support across the area and helps reduce health inequalities that hold children back.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the Healthy Child Programme so families stay connected to the right guidance early
- Work with SCPHN teams to spot additional needs before they become complex and stressful
- Facilitate group sessions to help parents learn skills that support child development in everyday life
- Promote public health messages so families feel confident making informed choices
- Record information accurately supporting safe joined up care across the service
- Build relationships with local partners to give families smoother access to help
- Offer early support for concerns so children stay on a healthy development path
- Maintain confidentiality protecting families who share sensitive moments
