Requirements

  • Qualified in a core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional) OR Qualified Post Graduate Certificate or above from a provider university as part of the CYP-IAPT programme (e.g., EMHP, CWP)
  • Professional registration with a recognized National Body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England, BPS, BABCP)
  • Knowledge of child psychology and development
  • Understanding of young people’s anxiety and depression and how it may present
  • Understanding of parenting and behavior management interventions
  • Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding, and other relevant legislation
  • Experience of safeguarding vulnerable people
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Experience of working in a mental health and/or CYP setting
  • Computer skills (all systems are electronic)

Salary Details

Competitive salary with additional benefits. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale. A relocation package of up to £8,000 is available for those who need to relocate to take up employment with CWP (terms and conditions apply).

About the Role

Join the Children & Young Person’s Mental Health Hub Team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and be part of the exciting developments in their 0-18 Mental Health Access Services in the Community. As a member of the Clinical Team, you’ll play a crucial role in reviewing referrals to the Cheshire Children and Young People’s Mental Health Hub (CYPMHH), triaging referrals for children and young people, and offering advice on appropriate support and signposting.

You’ll contribute to “consultations” helping support professionals working with families and young people, offering advice, guidance, and signposting. This role forms part of the “Access” function with a focus on prevention and early access to intervention. While the role entails high demand, you’ll be joining a highly motivated team with a supportive leadership structure.

The team supports young people up to 18 years of age in the West Cheshire, Central Cheshire, and East Cheshire areas. You’ll be required to work a minimum of once a week in Crewe, with the option of working at satellite offices as well as remote working. This flexibility allows for a good work-life balance while ensuring the needs of young people in the community are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and triage referrals to the Cheshire Children and Young People’s Mental Health Hub
  • Offer advice on appropriate support and signposting for children and young people
  • Contribute to consultations, supporting professionals working with families and young people
  • Provide advice, guidance, and signposting as part of the “Access” function
  • Focus on prevention and early access to intervention
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and use computer systems effectively
  • Participate in service development initiatives
  • Engage in continuous professional development
