Join UHS’s award-winning paediatric research team at the NIHR Clinical Research Facility. UHS is looking for a Band 6 Paediatric Research Sister to work with children, young people, and their families. This is a full-time, on-site role with regular interactions in both hospital and community settings. You’ll be managing a team of clinical research staff while supporting innovative research projects that impact future patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Paediatric Nurse (NMC registration)
  • Extensive Band 5 experience in clinical research or a relevant specialty
  • Recent management or leadership experience
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Ability to motivate, lead, and inspire teamwork
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including nights
  • Full driving licence, with travel across Southampton and the Wessex region

Band 6: £37,338 to £44,962 a year (pa or pro rata based on hours worked)

About the Role
The role of Band 6 Paediatric Research Sister involves managing a team of over 25 Research Nurses, Clinical Research Practitioners, and Clinical Trials Assistants. This position requires you to lead and support clinical research studies, providing specialist care to participants in both hospital and community settings. You will manage research projects, coordinate teams, and encourage the development of junior staff, ensuring that clinical research runs smoothly and efficiently.
