Requirements
- Hands-on experience supporting children with complex needs
- Willing to complete or already holds a Care Certificate
- UK driving licence is essential
- Able to work independently with confidence and empathy
- Comfortable working night shifts in a lone-working environment
- Good understanding of safeguarding and safe care practices
- Experience with tracheostomy, gastrostomy or ventilated children is a plus
Salary Details
The salary is £27,485 to £30,162 per year depending on experience. Night and weekend enhancements apply where relevant.
About the Role
This role gives you the chance to do something truly meaningful every shift. As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll be stepping into the homes of children with complex medical needs, giving their families the chance to rest knowing their child is in safe, skilled hands. You’ll deliver a mix of personal and clinical care, all while ensuring children are not only safe but also emotionally supported and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out clinical tasks like tracheostomy care, nebuliser use, or enteral feeding
- Support mobility needs using hoists and other safe handling equipment
- Administer medication safely and follow care plans precisely
- Work independently in family homes while maintaining professional boundaries
- Keep accurate records and relay critical observations to the wider team
- Engage children through appropriate interaction and emotional care
