Requirements

  • Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2 and above), including TSQL and Stored Procedures
  • Experience developing reports in Power BI
  • Strong understanding of data governance and risk management
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
  • Desirable: familiarity with clinical data systems and Microsoft Excel

Salary Details

This Band 6 role offers a salary range between £38,682 and £46,580 per year, based on experience and NHS pay scales.

About the Role

You’ll report to the ECS Senior BI Developer and work within the Electronic Care Systems team, supporting and enhancing the Trust’s clinical reporting solutions. Your work directly improves how healthcare teams use data for evidence-based care. Each day brings a mix of SQL development, Power BI design, and stakeholder collaboration. You’ll help manage the flow of clinical information, ensure data integrity, and create dashboards that drive operational and clinical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise Power BI and SSRS reports that inform clinical and operational teams
  • Support and administer the ePCR database, ensuring smooth data flow and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Clinical Information, Records, and Audit teams to translate data into actionable insights
  • Run release testing for new software updates and provide technical feedback
  • Manage SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to import and process clinical data
  • Provide expert advice to managers and directors to enhance system performance and decision making
