Requirements
- Education: GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 (or Functional Skills equivalent).
- Training: Care Certificate or willingness to complete it.
- Experience: Previous experience in a Health or Social Care setting delivering personal care or health support.
- Desirable: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and experience working within the NHS.
- Skills: Kindness, patience, teamwork, and a calm approach in challenging situations.
Salary Details
This role is Band 3 on the Agenda for Change pay scheme, offering £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro rata.
About the Role
As a Clinical Support Worker, you’ll work closely with the Specialist Registered Nurse for Mental Health (RMN) to deliver enhanced care for patients with mental health needs or cognitive impairments. Every shift brings a chance to make a difference—offering support, stability, and dignity to people who need it most.
You’ll help patients feel safe, assist with care plans, and provide one-to-one support that promotes recovery and independence. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work alongside acute healthcare teams to ensure each patient’s needs are fully met.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients with mental health or cognitive needs during hospital stays.
- Provide enhanced care observations to maintain safety and comfort.
- Work collaboratively with nurses and clinicians to deliver quality care.
- Assist patients with personal needs in a dignified, respectful manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care protocols.
