Requirements

  • Assistant Practitioner Qualification, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage patients
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team setting

About the Role

This role gives you the chance to be part of something groundbreaking. As a Clinical Support Worker, you’ll join the Community Liver Health Checks programme, providing outreach and screening services across Manchester.

You’ll carry out blood tests and fibroscans (specialised ultrasound for liver health) after full training, deliver results to patients, and guide those with cirrhosis towards further hospital care. By doing so, you won’t just be performing clinical tasks, you’ll be encouraging healthier futures and building trust with people who may not usually engage with healthcare.

You’ll work alongside the Hepatology Service at Manchester Royal Infirmary and the Infectious Diseases outreach service, while also linking with drug services, probation, and homeless services. Every interaction you have helps break down barriers to care and encourages people to take charge of their health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out clinical tests including bloods and fibroscans to identify liver health issues
