Requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade D/3 or above (or equivalent)
- Level 3 Apprenticeship in Health Care or willingness to complete Trust training
- Valid UK driving licence and access to transport for citywide visits
- Previous healthcare experience as a support worker, HCA or similar role
- Strong communication skills with patients and colleagues
- Ability to stay organised, problem solve and use IT confidently

This is a Band 3 NHS role under Agenda for Change, offering £24,937 to £26,598 per year, pro rata for part-time hours.
About the Role
The Clinical Support Worker will play a vital role in delivering continence care services for patients across Sheffield. Working under the supervision of continence nurses, you’ll carry out reassessments for patients either in their homes or in clinics, ensuring they receive the right continence products and support tailored to their needs.
You’ll also help deliver evidence-based care for patients at risk of compromised continence, performing procedures such as pre and post void bladder scans once trained. Beyond clinical care, you’ll provide reassurance, maintain dignity and support holistic wellbeing, making each patient feel seen and supported.
This role offers you the chance to be part of a supportive team where your input matters. You’ll be trusted to work independently at times while always having a team behind you, and your work will directly impact the comfort and quality of life of people in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out continence product reassessments that reflect each patient’s unique needs
- Provide support to continence nurses by undertaking clinical procedures safely
- Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and health professionals
- Protect patient confidentiality while ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Contribute to a joined-up service by working closely with other NHS and community teams
- Recognise personal limits and seek guidance when needed to keep patients safe
