Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification in health and social care or childcare
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings
  • Strong communication skills with a caring and polite manner

Salary Details

The salary is £25,313 to £26,999 per annum, pro rata for part-time roles, aligned with the Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

This role sits within the Children’s Community Nursing Service (CCNS). You’ll be supporting children and young people with respite care, outpatient clinics, special needs schools, and care in their own homes. Every task you take on helps reduce hospital admissions and supports families in managing care closer to home. You’ll be guided by registered nurses, gaining valuable training while building experience that could open doors to future career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support registered nurses to deliver high-quality care that makes a difference to children and families
  • Provide hands-on care in children’s homes, schools, and outpatient settings, ensuring continuity and compassion
  • Assist in respite care that gives families much-needed relief while keeping children safe and supported
  • Promote early discharge and reduce unnecessary hospital admissions through effective community support
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards that protect children and young people
