Requirements
- Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent skills
- Commitment to complete Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within probation
- Previous experience as a Band 2/3 Healthcare Assistant or equivalent care role
- Ability to travel independently with access to a suitable vehicle for business use
- Knowledge of person-centred care and willingness to develop skills in physical health interventions
- Positive, reliable approach with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
Salary Details
This is a Band 3 post under Agenda for Change with an annual salary of £24,937 to £26,598 depending on experience.
About the Role
This role is about more than taking physical health checks. It’s about being part of someone’s recovery journey and ensuring their wellbeing is at the centre of care. You’ll carry out essential tasks like venepuncture, ECG monitoring, and recording observations such as blood pressure and pulse.
You’ll also deliver self-guided interventions that empower service users to manage their health in practical ways. Each interaction helps someone feel more supported and capable, whether you’re providing reassurance in a clinic or visiting them at home. It’s hands-on, meaningful work where your input directly influences recovery and health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver physical healthcare interventions in clinics and during home visits to promote wellbeing
- Carry out venepuncture, ECGs, and other vital measurements that guide treatment decisions
- Record and communicate results accurately to ensure patients receive timely care
- Support service users with self-guided interventions that strengthen independence
- Uphold safety, privacy, and dignity while respecting cultural and spiritual differences
- Contribute to a recovery-focused environment that helps individuals feel safe and understood
