Job Description

Protocol Education is seeking recent or soon-to-be Creative Graduates for the role of Creative Graduate Teaching Assistant in various Primary Schools across Hackney. This full-time, contract position starting in September 2024 is perfect for graduates interested in pursuing a career in Primary Education.

Responsibilities include

  • Supporting the lead teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
  • Assisting with classroom management and student supervision.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with learning difficulties such as Autism and ADHD.
  • Preparing and organising educational materials.
  • Assessing student performance and providing feedback.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree in a creative subject such as Drama, Music, Theatre, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and aiding their academic success.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Classroom-based role with potential for outdoor activities.
  • May involve standing for long periods and occasional lifting of educational materials.
  • Positions available in schools local to Hackney.

Compensation

  • Salary: £85 – £100 per day, in line with permanent staff after 12 weeks.
  • All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
  • Option for the role to become permanent or lead to teacher training opportunities for the best graduates.

Safeguarding checks will be conducted in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, including an online search as part of due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
