Job Summary
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) is responsible for delivering healthcare services to over 700,000 people across six counties in North Wales (Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, and Wrexham).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced, self-motivated, and enthusiastic Cyber Security professional to join our expanding Cyber Security and Compliance Team. This role will be critical in protecting ICT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Network and Information Systems Regulations 2018 (NIS-R), and safeguarding patient care and treatment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the NIS-R and other cybersecurity frameworks.
- Protect and secure the organization’s complex ICT infrastructure.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including health sector partners, third-party suppliers, and senior managers.
- Communicate effectively using high-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel across the North Wales region as required by organizational needs.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
✔ Extensive experience in a senior ICT cybersecurity role.
✔ Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity and compliance.
✔ Ability to engage and communicate with various stakeholders.
✔ Willingness to travel across North Wales as needed.
Desirable Requirements
✔ Ability to speak Welsh (not mandatory, but desirable).

- Interview Format: In-person interviews only, conducted at Ysbyty Abergele Hospital.
- Work Location: Upon appointment, the successful candidate will be assigned to one of the following hospitals based on their home address:
- Ysbyty Maelor Wrexham Hospital
- Ysbyty Abergele Hospital
- Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital Bangor
Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check
- This role requires a DBS check, as it is covered under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
