We are looking for a passionate Cyber Security Consultant to be based at our Linford Wood office in Milton Keynes. About the Role

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will play a crucial role in both strategic and hands-on capacities. Your responsibilities will include advising clients on improving their security posture, enhancing their Microsoft Secure Score, leading major incident responses, and guiding clients through security compliance processes such as Cyber Essentials. This multifaceted role requires a blend of expert strategic advice and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

Client Advisory and Security Posture Improvement:

  • Provide expert advice on best practices for improving clients’ security posture.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement customized security strategies.

Microsoft Secure Score Enhancement:

  • Actively improve clients’ Microsoft Secure Score.
  • Implement security measures and configurations within Microsoft environments.
  • Monitor and maintain security settings for ongoing compliance and protection.

Incident Response:

  • Lead major incident response efforts and manage security incidents.
  • Investigate security breaches and provide detailed reports on findings and remediation steps.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and protocols.

Security Compliance:

  • Assist clients in achieving and maintaining security compliance standards like Cyber Essentials.
  • Guide clients through the compliance process with necessary documentation and support.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Provide training and support on security best practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior cyber security role or 1 year in a cyber security consultancy role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft security tools and platforms, including Microsoft Secure Score.
  • Proven experience in incident response and handling major security incidents.
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards such as Cyber Essentials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in conducting security assessments and audits.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals).
