About the Role
The Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) profession at the Home Office is responsible for designing, building, and running technology services that support UK security, including visa applications, passports, policing, counter-terrorism, and border protection.
The End User Compute and Collaboration (EUCC) team specializes in Microsoft 365 solutions, developing and implementing tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Office applications.
In this role, the Senior Data Analyst will identify and deliver new and existing data sources, develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and collaborate with various teams to implement the data strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to provide business insights.
- Develop data models and ETL processes for analytics.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
- Utilize Power BI, SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and visualization.
- Summarize and present data analysis results to senior stakeholders.
- Identify trends and patterns in data through advanced analytical techniques.
- Mentor and manage junior Data Analysts, building team capability.
- Work with Microsoft 365 tools to develop analytics for end users.
- Understand and work with API applications and functions.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in data analysis techniques, including network analysis, data matching, and text analytics.
- Strong understanding of data sources, data structures, and data storage.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data processing and analysis.
- Ability to create and present data visualizations using Power BI or similar tools.
- Experience leading a team to design and deliver analytics solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Skills (SFIA Framework)
Applicants will be assessed against the SFIA (Skills for the Information Age) framework at Level 3 for the following skills:

Security Clearance
- Security Check (SC) clearance required.
- Candidates must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years to meet security vetting requirements.
- A criminal record check will be conducted.
