Requirements
- Degree level education in a numerate subject plus significant post-degree experience
- In-depth knowledge of data warehouse technologies and architectures
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with MS SQL Server tools
- Experience with MS Azure technologies and cloud infrastructure
- Proven track record developing and maintaining data warehouse solutions
- Experience setting up large-scale data processing systems on cloud platforms
- NHS/Health Information Management experience
- Team management skills with ability to mentor and develop staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development support
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory and other ETL tools
- Build and manage data lakes, warehouses and databases on Azure platforms including Synapse Analytics
- Develop future data processing solutions in Microsoft Fabric
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions
- Provide technical support for existing database applications
- Ensure compliance with NHS Information Standard Notices and data standards
- Develop algorithms to transform data into usable models while ensuring data quality
- Manage the current data warehousing infrastructure supporting Trust reporting needs
- Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential benefit
- Document all technical processes thoroughly for knowledge sharing
