Requirements
- NMC Registered Nurse in Mental Health or Adult care
- Experience in dementia and delirium care within acute settings
- Skilled in managing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Confident in IT systems including PowerPoint and EPR
- Full driving licence for cross-site working
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and DOLS
- Teaching or training experience is desirable

This Band 6 role offers £38,682 to £46,580 per year, paid under the Agenda for Change pay scheme.
About the Role
This maternity cover role offers a chance to make a visible impact by supporting patients with dementia or delirium while also shaping how colleagues deliver compassionate care. The specialist nurse will split time between direct patient support and education, providing Tier 2 dementia training across sites. Their work will involve collaborating with a range of professionals to develop care plans that are evidence-based and person-centred. Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist dementia and delirium care that directly improves patient outcomes
- Support staff education through workshops and bedside teaching, ensuring sustainable skills transfer
- Work closely with teams to plan and deliver personalised care pathways
- Model best practice for colleagues to raise standards of dementia care Trust-wide
- Contribute to developing and reviewing service protocols that shape future care delivery
- Facilitate therapeutic activities that make hospital stays more positive for patients
