Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in health or social care or working towards equivalent
- Relevant experience in Band 2 or 3 clinical roles
- Great communication and digital skills
- Able to manage time and stay organised
- Team player who’s also confident working alone
- Awareness of cancer care support across the UK
- Understanding of NHS cancer strategy
Salary Details
This is a Band 4 role with an annual salary ranging from £26,928 to £29,551, aligned with NHS pay scales.
About the Role
This one’s for someone who cares deeply about people navigating cancer. The role sits within the Princess of Wales Hospital’s Dermatology Cancer Team, working alongside Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists. You’d guide patients and families through complex systems, offering emotional and practical support from start to finish. It’s not just about coordination, it’s about being a steady, trusted presence when it’s needed most.
You’ll handle both direct and indirect care tasks, working with electronic systems and different care teams to make sure no one falls through the cracks. This job suits someone who’s naturally empathetic, keeps things moving behind the scenes, and wants to make each day count.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide patients and families through their cancer care journey
- Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-ups
- Act as a consistent contact for patients and their loved ones
- Help patients access emotional and practical support
- Ensure smooth communication across teams and services
- Keep accurate records and use clinical systems confidently
- Work closely with CNSs and Consultants to deliver joined-up care
