Requirements
- HCPC registered Dietitian
- Post-registration clinical dietetics experience
- Confident supporting long-term condition management
- Skilled in group education and patient-centred delivery
- Able to work collaboratively across locations and platforms
- Full driving licence and vehicle access for Somerset-wide travel
- Bonus if they’ve got diabetes-specific knowledge or mentorship experience
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive salary range from £37,338 to £44,962 per annum based on experience and NHS banding.
About the Role
This isn’t just another Dietitian post. They’re inviting someone curious and committed to join their Diabetes Intermediate Care team, where you’ll split your time between delivering community outpatient services, digital consultations, and working closely with the acute-based MDT. You’ll also pick up a small general clinic, rounding out your week with variety and balance.
Their service is evolving, and that’s where you come in. They’re integrating community and hospital teams to streamline support for people living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. You’ll deliver structured education, dietetic-led clinics, and even have the chance to contribute to specialist MDT areas like antenatal or transitional care. And the best part? You won’t be doing it alone – their experienced Senior Dietitians and support teams will back you all the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver diabetes-focused outpatient clinics across Somerset
- Lead and co-deliver structured education sessions for patients
- Provide dietetic input via digital platforms, face-to-face, or by phone
- Work one day a week in close collaboration with the acute MDT
- Contribute to community clinic delivery, supporting a general caseload
- Participate in MDT discussions and share insights with Consultant Diabetologists and Nurses
- Champion patient education and self-management strategies
- Travel across Somerset as required, with partial home-working flexibility
