Requirements
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience delivering digital services
- Strong understanding of health services and diagnostic clinical workflows
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- ITIL certification or proven ITIL experience
- Skilled communicator able to translate complex information clearly
- Experienced leader with proven ability to deliver results in pressured environments
- Knowledge of NHS policies and digital strategies
- Ability to manage budgets, projects, and system improvements effectively

About the Role
This role isn’t just about systems, it’s about making hospital diagnostics run smoothly so clinicians can focus on patient care. As Diagnostic Systems Team Leader, you’ll guide a team supporting vital services across pathology, radiology, and cardiology. You’ll be hands-on with system configuration, installations, and upgrades, while also managing priorities through the IT service desk.
Your impact will be felt in every corner of the hospitals, from ensuring clinical systems stay resilient, to negotiating with suppliers, to driving digital projects that modernise patient care. The role calls for a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to keep people at the heart of digital services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the diagnostic systems team to provide reliable second line support that meets service level agreements
- Oversee system installations, upgrades, and user support to ensure seamless clinical operations
- Negotiate effectively with third-party suppliers to resolve issues and implement solutions
- Guide project planning to deliver digital improvements across multiple hospital sites
- Maintain clear communication with clinicians and staff, making technology easier to use
- Ensure systems are resilient, secure, and aligned with NHS standards
