Requirements

  • Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics or a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics
  • HCPC registration or eligibility to register as a dietitian
  • Strong understanding of core dietetic practice and patient care
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organised and self-motivated approach to managing caseloads
  • Collaborative mindset for working effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Desirable:

Salary Details

Starting salary between £31,049 and £37,796 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications. Includes NHS pension, generous annual leave, and access to ongoing training.

About the Role

As a Dietitian, you’ll manage your own caseload across varied clinical areas such as stroke, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, and elderly care. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering evidence-based nutritional support to patients both on wards and through outpatient clinics, including hospital discharge and nutrition support pathways.

You’ll also gain exposure to specialist teams in Parenteral Nutrition, Critical Care, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Surgery, and Upper GI Cancer, helping you build a well-rounded skill set early in your career. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan nutrition care for patients across medical and surgical specialties to support recovery and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate dietetic expertise into holistic treatment plans
  • Deliver outpatient consultations on nutrition support and discharge planning for continuity of care
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency
  • Support student dietitians and colleagues through mentoring and shared learning
  • Maintain accurate records in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Participate in training and CPD to expand knowledge and clinical effectiveness
