Position: T&E Expert – Rigorous Methods and Statistical Analysis

Are you passionate about applying rigorous T&E methodologies to shape the future of defense systems? Join HII’s Cyber & Electronic Warfare division and play a key role in providing T&E expertise to acquisition programs and research projects. As a T&E Expert, you will lead the development of test strategies, technical test designs, and post-test analyses, employing various statistical methods and software.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Rigorous T&E Expertise:
  • Provide expert T&E support to acquisition programs and research projects.
  • Lead the development of robust test strategies and technical designs, employing statistical methods such as design of experiments, Bayesian analysis, regression modeling, and reliability planning.
  1. Statistical Software Proficiency:
  • Utilize statistical software tools like JMP, DesignExpert, R, Matlab, or equivalent for analysis and modeling.
  1. Special Studies and Mentorship:
  • Conduct special studies on topics of interest to DoD senior leadership, including T&E of artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, autonomous systems, and more.
  • Mentor T&E practitioners in STAT processes and technical test design.
  1. Communication and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Communicate solutions effectively to leadership through oral and written presentations.
  • Author best practices and case studies for use within the sponsor and T&E community.
  1. Technical Conferences and Training:
  • Participate and potentially present at technical conferences such as Military Operations Research Society, International Test and Evaluation Association, and more.
  • Teach one- to five-day courses on rigorous T&E methods and design of experiments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors’s degree; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with a PhD; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
  • US Citizen Requirement.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 10 years of practical Department of Defense T&E experience.
  • Masters’s degree in stats, applied math, industrial engineering, ops research, engineering, or similar.
  • Practical experience employing Bayesian methods.
  • Experience with Defense acquisition.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance.
