Requirements
- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths or NVQ Level 2/3
- BTEC or A Levels in a biological sciences field
- Good grasp of exercise physiology and patient-centred rehabilitation
- Experience supporting people in care, health or nutrition-based settings
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a team and engaging with diverse patient groups
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays once trained
Salary Details
This role offers a competitive NHS Band 4 salary of £33,094 – £36,195 depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Role
This is your chance to join a close-knit team focused on transforming the lives of adults with chronic respiratory conditions. As an Exercise and Nutrition Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering personalised exercise plans and supporting nutritional goals.
Working under the guidance of senior physiotherapists, OTs, and dietitians, you’ll prescribe, monitor, and adjust tailored exercise programmes—whether in person or virtually. It’s a role that lets you blend clinical skills with human empathy, in a place that truly values patient outcomes and staff growth.
You’ll also lead group classes, support assessments, and help patients regain control after hospital discharge. The work is varied, meaningful and deeply impactful. Sound like the kind of opportunity you’ve been looking for?
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead patient-specific exercise sessions that support lung health
- Guide inpatients and outpatients through safe, effective strength and cardio routines
- Track progress using spirometry, saturation checks, and fitness testing
- Support therapy-led assessments and recommend next steps
- Educate patients about equipment use and safe rehabilitation practices
- Provide valuable insights to team discussions and feedback sessions
- Contribute to weekend services as required, once fully trained
