Salary Details

The position offers a salary of £23,615 per annum (pro rata), with enhanced pay for weekend hours. This falls under Band 2 of the Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has popped up to join the stellar Catering Team at County Hospital Stafford. As a Facilities Catering Support Assistant, you’ll be diving into the world of fresh food delivery, serving up delicious meals to patients and visitors alike. This isn’t just any old job – it’s a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives when they need it most.

The role comes with a unique rota that offers variety and work-life balance:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 16:30-19:30
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 16:30-19:30

Your main duties will include presenting and serving meals to patients, supporting restaurant meal services, and keeping the department spick and span. It’s all about attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a passion for providing top-notch service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals to patients, staff, and visitors, keeping dietary requirements and health & safety standards in mind
  • Assist with food preparation and organization, following NHS guidelines to a T
  • Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean as a whistle, including washing up and sanitizing surfaces
  • Take and record meal orders from patients, paying close attention to specific dietary needs
  • Deliver food to wards right on time, ensuring it’s served at the perfect temperature
  • Manage and replenish stock levels, making sure all food items are stored correctly
  • Liaise with healthcare staff to ensure patients’ dietary requirements are met with precision
