About the Role
This Family Worker post is part of the Op Courage Veteran Mental Health and Wellbeing team. The role sits at the heart of family recovery, recognising that when families, carers, and friends feel supported, veterans are better placed to heal, adapt, and thrive.
As the family worker, you’ll provide assessments and recovery planning that respond to each family’s unique circumstances. From welfare support and guidance to advice on navigating services, your input will directly enhance families’ sense of stability and independence. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, helping create a safe and supportive network that lifts both veterans and their loved ones.
It’s not just about offering help in the moment but strengthening the resilience of families so that recovery can continue long after formal support ends.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assessments to understand the needs of families, carers, and friends
- Develop recovery plans that strengthen families’ security and independence
- Provide welfare guidance and practical advice to improve wellbeing
- Collaborate with colleagues across Op Courage to deliver joined-up care
- Support veterans’ families to self-manage challenges and adapt positively
