Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points and C1 category.
  • Experience driving various vehicle types, ideally including light commercial vehicles.
  • Experience cleaning vehicles or equipment to a high standard.
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety and infection control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Salary Details

This role offers Band 2 pay, starting at £24,833 per annum (pro rata), in line with the NHS Agenda for Change pay scheme.

About the Role

As a Fleet Driver Cleaner, you’ll play a vital part in the smooth operation of ambulance services. You’ll handle vehicle collection and delivery across stations, workshops, and repair sites, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. You’ll also maintain clean, safe, and presentable vehicles, keeping infection control and patient safety front and centre.

The role involves working with Accident and Emergency ambulances, Rapid Response vehicles, and Patient Care Service vehicles, supporting the teams who rely on them daily. It’s a job that combines responsibility, trust, and teamwork—and it matters more than you think.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and deliver vehicles to maintenance sites and operational stations on schedule to keep fleet availability high.
  • Clean and prepare vehicles to infection control standards, ensuring readiness for emergency use.
  • Assist with the safe movement of vehicle parts and supplies between stations.
  • Communicate effectively with operations teams and workshop staff to coordinate schedules.
  • Uphold safety, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
