It seems like Android users are getting a useful upgrade to their Gmail accounts. The upgrade includes a prominent Unsubscribe button at the top of emails, making it easier for users to opt out of unwanted messages and combat spam. This feature is particularly helpful in dealing with spam that may evade Google’s built-in spam-sorting algorithm.

The Unsubscribe button may appear differently depending on how the sender or publisher implements it. Some newsletters may ask for confirmation or redirect users to their website to unsubscribe. The rollout of this new button is happening gradually, so users are advised to update their Gmail app and ensure they are running the latest Android software to check if they have received the upgrade.

In addition to the Unsubscribe button, there is also an Unsubscribe option available in the overflow menu. It’s worth noting that the Android version of Gmail has historically lagged behind the version available to iPhone owners.

This upgrade follows a previous enhancement introduced by Google in September, where Android owners received the Select All feature. While the feature claims to “Select All,” it actually selects 50 emails at a time, similar to the desktop version. This feature can be a time-saving tool, especially when dealing with a large number of emails.

Overall, these updates aim to improve the Gmail experience for Android users, providing them with better tools to manage and organize their emails.
