Salary Details

This role is Band 2 under Agenda for Change, starting at £24,833 per annum, pro rata for part time hours.

About the Role

This is a hands-on healthcare support role where no two days look the same. As part of Ward 10, the Health Care Assistant will work closely with registered nurses to deliver holistic care that respects each patient’s dignity. From assisting with meals to supporting personal hygiene and monitoring wellbeing, each task contributes directly to patient recovery and comfort. The hospital provides thorough training so even if someone is new to an acute setting, they’ll have the guidance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses with patient care so that treatment runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Support patients with hydration and dietary needs to aid recovery
  • Help maintain personal hygiene standards to promote dignity and wellbeing
  • Keep the ward environment clean while following infection prevention rules
  • Uphold the fundamentals of care, ensuring equality and respect at all times
