Job Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for two Health Care Support Roles at Sefton Sexual Health. You will work across hub clinics in Southport and Bootle and provide support in outreach settings.

The role requires flexibility to work cross-site, including weekends, evenings, and outreach work. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a genuine interest in sexual health, show initiative, and be able to work independently or under direction. You will ensure patients feel safe and reassured during their visits.

Main Responsibilities

  • Setting up and closing down clinical rooms
  • Chaperoning doctors and nurses during examinations
  • Conducting asymptomatic screening of patients
  • Performing venepuncture and clinical observations
  • Maintaining and ordering clinical stock

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Care Certificate (Level 1 equivalent)
  • Literacy and numeracy skills at Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent

Knowledge & Experience

  • Knowledge of personal care and healthcare procedures
  • Previous experience in patient care or health-related roles
  • Understanding of relevant healthcare legislation
  • Experience of working in a team

Skills

  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work within a team and support junior staff
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong organizational skills
  • Competent IT skills
