Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Ability to communicate well with patients and teams
- Calm approach to challenging situations
- Reliable and flexible with shifts, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to learn and support patients with daily care tasks
- Team player with a real interest in dementia care
- Previous experience in healthcare or social care is a plus
Salary Details
This is a Band 2 role offering 23,970 per year, based on 37.5 hours per week.
About the Role
You’ll be part of a close-knit team supporting older adults living with dementia at Annwylfan Ward, a 16-bed unit that delivers both assessment and specialist care. It’s a fast-paced yet rewarding environment that calls for empathy, resilience, and heart.
Expect a mix of 12-hour shifts across days and nights. Your presence will help keep the ward calm, safe, and structured. You’ll offer both physical support and emotional reassurance, helping each patient feel seen and heard.

Key Responsibilities
- Support patients with daily personal care and routines
- Observe and report on changes in physical or emotional wellbeing
- Maintain a calm presence during challenging behaviours
- Communicate clearly with families, carers, and health professionals
- Promote dignity, independence, and choice for every patient
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure excellent care delivery
