Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Health Care Support Worker will assist the clinical team by preparing areas for patient care and providing basic support to patients. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and maintaining clinical spaces, including cleaning and restocking equipment.
- Supporting patients with basic care needs, such as nutrition and personal assistance.
- Communicating with patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate and supportive approach.
This role demands enthusiasm, reliability, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications
Essential
- Care Certificate (achieved upon appointment or within 12 weeks).
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G).
Desirable - NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.
Knowledge, Training, and Experience
Essential
- Experience interacting with the public or a desire to work in healthcare.
- Basic understanding of routine work procedures, gained through induction and on-the-job training.
Desirable - Previous experience in health or social care, especially within an Emergency Department.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic IT proficiency.
Desirable - Good organizational skills.
